2025 Berks Summer Classic

Champions: smokey bones

Team Smokey Bones etched their name into Berks Classic Hockey history by capturing the 2025 Berks Summer Classic championship—marking the inaugural season of the league’s stepping stone into the premier hockey world. Their title run featured a dramatic overtime semifinal win over Team Palacios Dentistry, followed by a decisive victory over Team Verbero in the Championship to hoist the cup and make history.

Leading the way was League MVP Reed Hirneisen, whose clutch overtime heroics in the semis and consistent offensive production all season powered Smokey Bones to the top. Between the pipes, Smokey Bones’ MVG Chandler Walborn delivered standout performances all year, keeping the team in the fight and anchoring the run that ultimately ended with a championship celebration.

Champions: the naughty list

The Naughty List made history in 2025 by winning the first-ever Berks Christmas Classic Tournament, cementing themselves as the inaugural champions of the holiday showdown. After finishing the round robin as the #1 seed with just one loss, The Naughty List earned a direct bye to the Championship—setting the stage for a primetime clash against the Polar Dancers.

Coming off a grueling semifinal that went to overtime just one hour earlier, the Polar Dancers came out flying and jumped to a 3–1 lead. But The Naughty List stayed composed, battled through adversity, and flipped the momentum as the Polar Dancers wore down, storming back to secure the win and “pocket the W.” Behind the steady goaltending of Chad “Chico” Simmerman and the dominant playmaking presence of power forward Joey Kubachka, The Naughty List delivered a championship performance worthy of the tournament’s first trophy.
